Since many of us are drafting our season long NFL Fantasy Football teams this Saturday, I thought it a good idea to list the major NFL injuries that should affect draft day. Check it out.
NFL Fantasy Football Injury Update – Part I
Baltimore Ravens – RB Kenneth Dixon is out for the season. Danny Woodhead is banged up. Only Terrance West appears healthy enough to be the every down back. He'll lose touches when Woodhead's healthy.
Chicago Bears – WR Cameron Meredith is out for the season. Meredith was ready to take the next step. It's a real shame. Who will the Bears turn to in the passing game? Kevin White. Remember that guy? He was the 7th pick in Round 1 in the 2015 NFL Draft. White has a ton of talent. So far, the only thing he's got showing for it are 2 injury-plagues seasons.
Cincinnati Bengals – RB Jeremy Hill is listed as day-to-day. Many believe the ankle injury is far worse. Hill's carries should go down significantly this season anyhow with the addition of Joe Mixon. Mixon should be a Round 3 or Round 4 pick.
Cleveland Browns – WR Josh Gordon is still on the roster. He's also still suspended indefinitely.
Dallas Cowboys – Unless the RB can turn around his 6 game suspension, don't expect Ezekiel Elliott in silver and blue until Week 8. If that happens, RB Darren McFadden should get the bulk of the carries. The Cowboys offensive line is good enough to open up holes for McFadden.
Consider drafting Zeke in Round 3 or Round 4 before drafting McFadden right after. Don't push it, but it could come up roses for you if Zeke's suspension is lifted to only 4 games.
Denver Broncos – Before the NFL Preseason started, there was a rumor that Denver might part ways with RB C.J. Anderson. That didn't happen. Good thing too because Devontae Booker isn't ready for Week 1.
Houston Texans – WR Will Fuller, last season's Round 1 pick, is out until Week 5. Fuller's got a clavicle issue.
Indianapolis Colts – QB Andrew Luck is doubtful for Week 1. Since Luck is projected to be one of the Top 5 quarterbacks taken in every NFL Fantasy Football Draft, his doubtful status could be an issue for whoever drafts him too early. The thing is, outside of Luck, Indy's not looking too great.
Jacksonville Jaguars – RB T.J. Yeldon is listed as day-to-day. Not sure that has any effect on Leonard Fournette. Unless the Jags' offensive line comes together much stronger, Fournette could have a tough rookie season.
Kansas City Chiefs – RB Spencer Ware is out for the season. RB Kareem Hunt is projected as the starter. I'm considering drafting Hunt early just because of the buzz around his ability to catch the football out of the backfield. If Hunt is as good as so many project he'll be, forget it. KC's offensive line is stacked.
Hunt could put up Christian Okoye numbers. Yep. That's how old I am.
Miami Dolphins – QB Ryan Tannehill is out for the season. QB Jay Cutler is the starter. Cutler was fantastic in NFL Preseason Week 3. He completed 11 of 15 for 105 yards. He didn't throw a pick. Drafting Cutler could work out for strong-willed fantasy players willing to wait on a QB1. Pair Cutler with WR Devante Parker for what could be a surprise QB/WR combination.
