We're only a couple of days from NFL Week 1 Sunday. This season, I'm playing both an NFL DraftKings Pick'em Team and an NFL DraftKings Classic Team. Below is my NFL Week 1 Pick'em Team. Check it out!
T1 Aaron Rodgers, QB, Green Bay Packers – The Seahawks defense took a major step back last season. Seattle allowed over 257 passing yards per game. If the Hawks' D takes another step back this season, it's going to happen right away.
Rodgers appears poised for an NFL MVP run. I'm so convinced that he throws over 40 TD passes that I made AR my top pick in my season long fantasy draft and I had pick 4. That's a huge fantasy football faux pas, right? I'm going to look like a genius when he passes for over 400 yards and throws 4 TDs against the Seahawks in Week 1.
T2 Eli Manning, QB, New York Giants – Some of Eli's biggest games have been against the Dallas Cowboys. Manning faces a decent Dallas defense based on stats. That was last season when the Boys benefited from a crazy easy schedule. Last season, Eli threw 3 TD passes in Week 1. That game was in Dallas. I'm hoping for a repeat performance only that Eli rocks it at the Meadowlands on Sunday.
T3 Antonio Brown, WR, Pittsburgh – I could have chosen Julio Jones or Le'Veon Bell here. I decided to go with Brown because Antonio is ultra-consistent. I expect Atlanta to rush the football against Chicago's defense while Pittsburgh should take advantage of Cleveland's secondary. Brown should score at least 1 TD on Sunday while racking up close to 100 passing yards.
T4 DeMarco Murray, RB, Tennessee – Coach Mike Mularkey has stated that Murray gets the bulk of the carries. RB Derrick Henry will spell Murray. But, there's no reason to switch things up yet because DeMarco remains one of the top RBs in the NFL.
Atlanta's Devonta Freeman is also available in Tier 4. I'm going with Murray because Atlanta must use Tevin Coleman. Tevin's too talented to leave on the bench. Plus, Coleman and Freeman run differently while Henry and Murray are almost the same back.
T5 Todd Gurley, RB, L.A. Rams – Gurley should dominate a Colts' D that allowed over 120 rushing yards per game last season. I see the Rams' RB going nuts on Sunday. Don't be surprised if he manages at least 120 rushing yards to go along with 2 TDs.
T6 Isaiah Crowell, RB, Cleveland – Crowell is a talented, young, workhorse RB that should be the focal point of Cleveland's offense on Sep. 10. He has decent hands for being such a big back. I like Crowell to to have a surprise game against the Pittsburgh defense in Week 1.
T7 Michael Crabtree, WR, Oakland – Crabtree has as much of a chance of scoring a TD in Oakland's game versus the Titans as Amari Cooper does. Cooper gets the bulk of the catches and yards. Crabtree is whom Derek Carr goes to in the red zone. He's a nice pick at Tier 7.
T8 Jimmy Graham, TE, Seattle – I know everyone's down on Jimmy. I get it. But, at Tier 8 it's tough to find the player that's going to get you points. Since Green Bay should score at will in this game, Jimmy should get more than his usual looks on Sunday.
