I put together an NFL Week 12 DraftKings Classic Team that only includes Monday's and Thursday's games. On Monday, the Houston Texans travel to the Baltimore Ravens. On Thursday, the Washington Redskins travel to the Dallas Cowboys. Check it out!
QB – Dak Prescott, $6,200, Dallas vs Washington
Dak averages 18.1 fantasy point per game. It's doubtful that many DraftKings DFS players add Dak to their Monday and Thursday games. The reason I say that is because Dak was horrible on Thanksgiving Day. Facing an underrated L.A. Chargers' defense, Prescott only racked up 5.8 fantasy points.
The matchup versus Washington should be much better for Dak this Thursday. Prescott won't have tons of success throwing to his wide receivers. No worries. The Cowboys must get RB Alfred Morris going. They must then throw to tight-end Jason Witten.
Dak also figures to pull his best Russell Wilson impersonation on Nov. 30.
RB – Samaje Perine, $6,300, Washington at Dallas
Dallas' defense is a mess. It's costing a $7,000 salary to add QB Kirk Cousins. I believe that Dallas' defense is such a mess that Cousins could have an okay fantasy football game, around 20 FF points, while Perine scores 2 to 3 rushing TDs. Perine is one of the few must adds from the dartboard that is this Monday night's and this Thursday night's NFL games.
He was fantastic versus the Giants' defense on Thanksgiving Day. He scored over 19 fantasy football points. Perine should have no trouble running right through Dallas' defense because the Boys will again be without their best defensive player, Sean Lee.
RB – Lamar Miller, $6,000, Houston at Baltimore
Baltimore's defense has played well lately. If there's one issue that the Ravens have on defense, it's controlling talented rushers. Houston won't get into a shootout with the Ravens on Monday night. Baltimore's offense isn't good enough.
I think the Texans lean on Miller. D'Onta Foreman is on I-R while Alfred Blue is listed as probable with a hand injury. Wide Receiver DeAndre Hopkins could get involved. I have my doubts, though. Baltimore's secondary and pass rush have been brilliant in the Ravens' last couple of games.
Miller's the best player to add from the Houston Texans.
WR – Jamison Crowder, $6,200, Washington at Dallas
Crowder has become QB Kirk Cousins' favorite target. He was sensational versus the New York Giants last Thursday night. Crowder caught 7 of 10 targets for 141 yards. One of his catches was for a TD.
The Dallas secondary is a mess. Without Lee, the Boys won't be able to stop Crowder from caching a few TDs. I just don't see how Crowder isn't the top WR on DraftKings for the Monday Night and Thursday Night DFS Showdown. Crowder won't have a brilliant game. He could garner over 20 fantasy points, though.
WR – Jeremy Maclin, $5,200, Baltimore vs Houston
I'm looking for Baltimore QB Joe Flacco to lean on Jeremy Maclin. Baltimore's offense revolves around the rushing attack. Houston works hard to stop the rushing attack. Flacco figures to throw to to Maclin because Mike Wallace is more of a deep threat while Maclin could find himself open in the middle of the field.
WR – Josh Doctson, $5,100, Washington at Dallas
Doctson caught a TD pass versus the New York Giants last Thursday night. He could catch 2 TD passes versus Dallas's horrible secondary. After DeAndre Hopkins and Jamison Crowder, it's hard to find suitable wide receivers. I won't want to pay the $7,000 salary for DeAndre. Dallas' best WR, Dez Bryant, faces one of the tougher secondaries in the NFL.
Doctson gets the call.
TE – Jason Witten, $4,900, Dallas vs Washington
The best way for the Dallas Cowboys to beat the Washington Redskins on Thursday night is to lean on Dak to Witten and utilize Alfred Morris. If the Cowboys want to stay in the game, that's the only way they're going to keep it close. Washington will score points versus Dallas' porous defense. Throwing to Witten is a way to keep Washington's defense on the field.
FLEX – Alfred Morris, RB, $4,900, Dallas vs Washington
Morris showed flashes of being a decent running back for the Dallas Cowboys. The Boys obviously have faith in Morris because they cut RB Darren McFadden. Morris, and Prescott, must get Dallas' rushing game on track. Washington's secondary is too good for Dak to throw it to Dallas' wide receivers.
DEF – Houston Texans, $2,700, Houston vs Baltimore
There's a good chance that Dallas vs Washington on Thursday night turns into a shootout. There's probably no chance that Baltimore vs Houston on Monday night turns into a shootout. Houston ranks 28th versus opposing quarterbacks. No worries.
Baltimore isn't designed to throw the football all over the field. Jeremy Maclin should get some looks. But, the Ravens, for the most part, are going to want to rush the football. I believe Houston's defense could come up with a rare gem of a game on Monday night.
