NFL Week 4 is upon us. I list the Top 5 NFL Quarterbacks, based on DraftKings' salary for Sunday in Week 4. Check out my thoughts after looking at the list.
NFL Week 4 Top Fantasy QBs
1. Tom Brady, $8,000, New England vs Carolina
2. Matt Ryan, $7,400, Atlanta vs Buffalo
3. Carson Wentz $6,600, Philadelphia at L.A. Chargers
4. Marcus Mariota, $6,400, Tennessee at Houston
5. Phillip Rivers, $6,300, L.A. Chargers vs Philadelphia
Matt Ryan, Atlanta vs Buffalo
The Bills head to Buffalo after holding Denver QB Trevor Siemian to 24 of 40 day. Siemian threw for 259 yards. He didn't throw a single TD pass. He also threw 2 interceptions. Buffalo beat Denver 26 to 16.
I don't believe Matt Ryan is as bad as Trevor Siemian was in Week 3. Ryan often plays much better at home than he does on the road. He should be decent against Buffalo. Is decent worth $7,400 in salary cap dollars? I don't believe so.
Best Choice Based on Salary
Philip Rivers, L.A. Chargers vs Philadelphia
I get it. Philip Rivers has been a massive disappointment as a fantasy quarterback this season. His stats are just awful. He's completed 73 of 112 passes for 760 yards. He's thrown 4 TDs. He's thrown 4 interceptions.
I believe he turns it around starting in NFL Week 4 versus the Philadelphia Eagles. Rivers is too good of a quarterback to continue to play this way. Plus, Philly's defense allows 266 passing yards per game. In Week 3, Eli Manning torched Philly for 366 yards and 3 TD passes. If it weren't for the 2 interceptions, it might have been a successful day for Eli.
Rivers could have a huge day against the Eagles' secondary on Sunday.
NFL Week 4 QB Options
Matthew Stafford, $6,000, Detroit at Minnesota
Minnesota ranks 30th versus opposing quarterbacks. Stafford has thrown 7 TDs to a single interception. His QB rating is 100.1. He's averaging close to 20 fantasy points per game. Stafford has become one of the most reliable quarterbacks in the NFL.
Andy Dalton, $5,800, Cincinnati at Cleveland
Dalton turned it around against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field in Week 3. He threw 2 TD pases. He threw for 212 yards. Cleveland's defense is a mess. The Browns allowed Jacoby Brissett to throw for 259 yards and a TD. Even Baltimore's Joe Flacco tossed 2 TDs against Cleveland's defense.
Eli Manning, $5,700, New York Giants at Tampa Bay
Tampa Bay's pass defense allows 329.5 yards per game. The Buccaneers' D allows 72.4 rushing yards per game. Things figure to go either horribly wrong for Eli on Sunday, or fantastically right. The Giants have no rushing attack. What it means is that Tampa Bay could play a nickel defense the entire game. Eli might be worth a shot if you believe he can find the open receiver instead of throwing to Odell Beckham Jr. every time he steps back.
Jared Goff, $5,600, L.A. Rams at Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys' defense allows 227.7 passing yards per game. In NFL Week 3, the Boys' secondary allowed Carson Palmer to throw for 325 yards and 2 TDs. Because Dallas holds opposing teams to only 87 rushing yards per, the Rams must win this game through the air. Goff has thrown 5 TD passes to only 1 interception. He could have a great game against the Cowboys on Oct. 1.
