NFL Week 4 is upon us. I list the Top 5 NFL Running Backs, based on DraftKings' salary, for Sunday in Week 4. Check out my thoughts after looking at the list.
NFL Week 4 Top Fantasy RBs
1. Le'Veon Bell, $8,700, Pittsburgh at Baltimore
2. LeSean McCoy, $8,400, Buffalo at Atlanta
3. Ezekiel Elliott, $8,200, Dallas vs L.A. Rams
4. Todd Gurley II, $7,800, L.A. Rams at Dallas
5. DeVonta Freeman, $7,300, Atlanta vs Buffalo
Le'Veon Bell, Pittsburgh at Baltimore
Bell just isn't worth adding to any DraftKings DFS team for $8,700. He hasn't come close to producing fantasy points comparable to his salary. Bell averages 14.7 fantasy points per. Baltimore's defense isn't bad. Plus, the Ravens tackle Pittsburgh at home. Also, is anyone comfortable paying an $8,700 salary on a disappointing RB in a rivalry game?
Todd Gurley II, L.A. Rams at Dallas
Gurley II has fumbled the football 4 times in only 3 games played. That's an amazing stat. If he played for a top college team, they'd already have benched TGII. To make things tougher on Gurley, Dallas allows an average of 87.3 rushing yards per game.
Best Choice Based on Salary
Ezekiel Elliott, Dallas vs L.A. Rams
While the Cowboys' defense stops the rush, the Rams' defense stops the pass. Opponents average 139 yards per game against the Rams' defense. The best way for Dallas to keep the Rams' high-scoring offense off the field is for the Boys to feed Zeke. Don't be surprised if Elliott rushes for close to 200 yards while adding a couple of TDs in Sunday's matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.
NFL Week 4 RB Options
Christian McCaffrey, $6,800, Carolina at New England
New England's defense isn't great while the only way for Carolina to keep this game close is to get McCaffrey involved early and often. McCaffrey caught 9 of 11 targets for 101 yards versus the Saints in Week 3.
Carlos Hyde, $6,600, San Francisco at Arizona
Hyde is averaging 19.5 fantasy points per game. He's got a sore hip. He didn't practice all that much this week. It shouldn't be a problem on Sunday, though. Hyde could have a sneaky good game versus the Arizona Cardinals.
The Cards allowed Dallas RB Ezekiel Elliott to rush for 80 yards and a TD. Elliott also caught 3 passes for 14 yards. Hyde has 12 catches on the season. Don't be surprised if QB Brian Hoyer targets Hyde at least 6 times in this game.
Joe Mixon, $5,700, Cincinnati at Cleveland
Mixon got 18 carries versus the Packers in Week 3. Jeremy Hill received 4 carries. Giovanni Bernard received 3 carries. Mixon also caught 3 passes from 3 targets. It feels like Mixon's on the verge of a breakout game. Playing against the Cleveland Browns could help.
Terrance West, $4,100, Baltimore vs Pittsburgh
West, like every player on Baltimore's roster in Week 3, was horrendous in the 7 to 44 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. To his credit, West was banged up in that game. Pittsburgh ranks 28th in the NFL versus an opposing team's running backs. I think West has a chance to bounce back huge in Week 4.
