NFL Week 5 is upon us. I list the Top 5 NFL Wide Receivers based on DraftKings' salary for Sunday in Week 5. Check out my thoughts after looking at the list.
NFL Week 5 Top Fantasy WRs
1. Odell Beckham Jr., $8,500, New York Giants vs L.A. Chargers
2. Antonio Brown, $8,400, Pittsburgh vs Jacksonville
3. A.J. Green, $8,200, Cincinnati vs Buffalo
4. Jordy Nelson, $8,100, Green Bay at Dallas
5. Keenan Allen, $7,200, L.a. Chargers at New York Giants
Odell Beckham Jr., $8,500, New York Giants vs L.A. Chargers
Odell could have a decent game against the L.A. Chargers. I doubt it. Although Eli Manning targeted Odell 15 times in NFL Week 3, Beckham Jr. only caught 7 of the 15 targets for 90 yards. What that tell's me is that teams are strategizing around Beckham Jr. The Chargers figure to do the same thing. That's not to mention that Beckham Jr. is listed as questionable in this game.
A.J. Green, $8,200, Cincinnati vs Buffalo
I'm not sure why nobody believes in Buffalo's defense. The Bills are 3 and 1 for a reason. Buffalo held Atlanta QB Matt Ryan to 24 of 41 for 242 yards. Ryan threw 2 picks in that game. If the Bills can stop Matty Ice, they should have no trouble stopping Cincinnati QB Andy Dalton. Since Dalton throws passes to A.J. Green, Green's not offering much value at $8,200.
Best Choice Based on Salary
Jordy Nelson, $8,100, Green Bay at Dallas
WR Davante Adams might be out due to a concussion. Nelson remains Aaron Rodgers' favorite target. He should have his way with a Dallas defense that gave up 13 receptions, 149 yards, and a TD catch to Larry Fitzgerald in Week 3.
Sure, Dallas' D shut down the Rams' wide receivers last Sunday. That's because the Rams demolished Dallas with mid-range passes to RB Todd Gurley. Nelson should benefit the most from playing against Dallas' pass defense.
NFL Week 5 WR Options
Larry Fitzgerald, $6,800, Arizona at Philadelphia
Speaking of Fitzgerald, he could have a monster game versus the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. The Eagles allow an insane amount of passing yards per game. Fitz might garner 10 catches to go along with 125 passing yards and a TD.
Davante Parker, $6,600, Miami vs Tennessee
Tennessee's pass defense is horrendous. Miami QB Jay Cutler's best chance of helping the Fins to a win is to pass it to Davante Parker. Parker only got 8 targets last week. He caught 6 of the 8 targets for 69 yards. Tennessee's going to shut down Miami's rushing attack. That's a given. Only by utilizing Devante Parker will Miami come close to beating Tennessee.
Golden Tate, $6,300, Detroit vs Carolina
Both Drew Brees and Tom Brady pummeled Carolina's defense the past couple of games. The Panthers face a sneaky good QB to WR combination in Matt Stafford to Golden Tate. Carolina doesn't often play man-to-man defense. Tate should find some areas in the middle of the field where he can catch the football. I expect Tate to have a decent to good game in Week 5.
