Le'veon Bell and Ezekiel Elliott headline NFL Week 7's highest-salary cost running backs. Bell and the Pittsburgh Steelers face the rival Cincinnati Bengals. Elliott and the Dallas Cowboys battle 0 and 6 San Francisco. Behind Elliott and Bell are Leonard Fournette, Todd Gurley II, and LeSean McCoy.
NFL Week 7 Top Fantasy RBs
1. Le'Veon Bell, $9,100, Pittsburgh vs Cincinnati
2. Ezekiel Elliott, $9,000, Dallas at San Francisco
3. Leonard Fournette, $8,600, Jacksonville at Indianapolis
4. Todd Gurley II, $8,200, L.A. Rams vs Arizona
5. LeSean McCoy, $7,400, Buffalo vs Tampa Bay
Le'Veon Bell, $9,100, Pittsburgh vs Cincinnati
Cincinnati ranks 4th in the NFL versus an opposing team's running back. Bell has had great games followed by so-so performances. This could be another one of those so-so performances. It's difficult to say how Bell does versus the Bengals. That's why I can't endorse him at such a high salary. The RB position is deep for DraftKings DFS Classic Contests. I'm passing on Bell again.
Best Choice Based on Salary
LeSean McCoy, $7,400, Buffalo vs Tampa Bay
McCoy has yet to score a TD. No worries. Buffalo had a whole week during their bye to figure out how to get LeSean even more involved in the offense. Tampa Bay's defense isn't nearly as good as many of us thought it would be. The Buccaneers allowed Adrian Peterson to rush for 134 yards from 26 carries. AP also rushed for 2 TDs. There's a chance McCoy posts similar numbers while also catching at least 6 passes from Buffalo QB Tyrod Taylor.
NFL Week 7 RB Options
Mark Ingram, $6,700, New Orleans at Green Bay
The Saints' didn't need it's offense to be spectacular to beat the Detroit Lions in NFL Week 6. Ingram still posted fantastic numbers. He's a lock to see at least 5 targets from QB Drew Brees. Ingram's got nice hands. He's also been great rushing the football. I think he offers tremendous value at only $6,700 now that the Saints' offense is back to where it should be, utilizing Mark Ingram with regularity.
Jordan Howard, $6,400, Chicago vs Carolina
Carolina's defense is ranked in the Top 10 versus opposing running backs. However, Luke Kuechley, Julius Peppers, Thomas Davis, and Charles Johnson on the Panthers' D are all listed as being questionable. It's hard for me to see Carolina shutting down a Bears' offense that hasn't performed as badly as expected with rookie QB Mitch Trubisky under center. Howard offers some value at his salary.
Adrian Peterson, $5,800, Arizona vs L.A. Rams
Talk about value. Peterson showed that he wasn't in the right system in New Orleans. The Saints did the right thing by trading Peterson to a team that needed his services much more than they did. Already, AP has shown he hasn't lost a step. He dominated the Tampa Bay Bucs in Week 6 with 134 rushing yards and 2 rushing TDs. The Rams have trouble stopping opposing running backs. They should have a big problem stopping Adrian Peterson on Sunday.
Joe Mixon, $5,000, Cincinnati at Pittsburgh
Mixon should have a decent day versus a Pittsburgh team that allowed Leonard Fournette to rush for 181 yards in Week 5. If Pitt wishes to stop WR A.J. Green, they can't afford to put an extra man in the box. That should give Mixon some room to run. You must also take into account the possibility that QB Andy Dalton dumps down to Joe on plays when he has trouble finding an open wide receiver.
