The NBA is back to a normal schedule on Thursday, Feb. 23. I've already put together my NBA DraftKings Team for Thursday night. Check it out!
Feb. 23, NBA DraftKings Basketball
PG – Kyrie Irving, $8,700, Cleveland vs New York – Kyrie's averaging over 24 points per game. He's also picked up his assist average this season. Kyrie's good for 6 assists per game. On some nights, he can get 12 or more assists to go along with 20 points. The Knicks' Derrick Rose has always been a good defender. It's hard for me to see Kyrie not scoring close to 30 against New York, though. Kevin Love is once again out with injury.
SG – Gary Harris, $5,200, Denver at Sacramento – Gary Harris has been en fuego for the Denver Nuggets. Harris scored 16 points in 3 straight. Then, in Denver's game right before the All-Star Break, he scored 22. The Nuggets battle a Sacramento team loaded with guards. Harris should be able to blow by most of those guards while Boogie won't be in the paint to block his shot.
SF – Solomon Hill, $3,900, New Orleans vs Houston – Houston's style is to run and gun. Although the Pelicans offense is going to revolve around Anthony Davis and Boogie, both big men love to pass the rock. Hill could turn into a high-scoring, dynamo rebounding, small forward on Thursday night since Houston's entire team must pay attention to Boogie, Davis, and Pelicans' point-guard Jrue Holiday.
PF – Blake Griffin, $9,100, L.A. Clippers at Golden State – Blake has been a monster since returning from the injury. He'll throw in a disappointing game once in a while. I think Griffin has too much pride to allow the Warriors to put a beating on him. I think he goes for at least 10 boards along with close to 30 points on Feb. 23.
C – Tristan Thompson, $5,800, Cleveland vs New York – Thompson has scored a double-double in Cleveland's last 3 games. Since I can put Thompson on the team for less than $6,000, he's the value player for my squad. As long as Kevin Love remains out, Tristan should get over 35 minutes per match up.
G – Derrick Rose, $6,100, New York at Cleveland – Like Blake, Rose has too much pride to let Kyrie take him to school all night. Rose may end up gong mano y mano with Kyrie. That would be great for me since I've put both on my team.
F – Kristaps Porzingis, $6,600, New York at Cleveland – LeBron is going to be on Melo, meaning that Kristaps gets the match up against Thompson. Look, Thompson is a good player, but Kristaps has some size over Tristan. I think both players end up having fantastic games. Kristaps averages close to 8 boards, and close to 19 points per game.
UTIL – J.J. Reddick, $4,500, L.A. Clippers at Golden State – Before the All-Star Break, Reddick had been terrible. He couldn't hit anything. Now that Chris Paul is likely to play on Thursday night, Reddick should start shooting well again. Reddick has always been a better shooting guard with a great point-guard. Raymond Felton isn't a great point-guard. Chris Paul is.
