NFL Week 8 is here. I've put together what I feel is a decent NFL Week 8 DraftKings Classic DFS Team. Hopefully, I'll be able to cash. Check it out!
QB – Philip Rivers, $6,300, L.A. Chargers at New England
The L.A. Chargers have won 3 straight games. I'm hoping that New England QB Tom Brady has a huge game as well. If he does, Rivers has no choice but to launch the football to keep up with Brady and the Pats' offense. That's a good thing. The Bolts' have a decent defense. So, this could backfire on me. Then again, LAC's rushing attack isn't stellar while their best RB, Melvin Gordon, is supposedly suffering from a foot injury.
RB – LeSean McCoy, $8,700, Buffalo vs Oakland
I do feel that Oakland's defense is better with former San Francisco linebacker Navarro Bowman. Bowman, who had a number of different suitors, decided to sign with Oakland. Bowman could help Oakland put a dent into LeSean McCoy's ability to rush the football.
Then again, the Raiders go into this game off a fantastic 1-point win over rival Kansas City. Oakland can't help but take a step backward. Not only that, but Buffalo opened the offense up in their Week 7 win over Tampa Bay. I much prefer McCoy at $8,700 at home versus Oakland's defense than I do Ezekiel Elliott at $9,200 versus Washington.
RB – Mark Ingram, $7,400, New Orleans vs Chicago
Ingram has been a straight up NFL Fantasy stud ever since the Saints traded Adrian Peterson to the Arizona Cardinals. He's averaging over 22 points per game at home. He could eclipse 30 with fellow RB Alvin Kamara getting close to 20. That's how much the Saints use both of their running backs.
WR – Keenan Allen, $7,300, L.A. Chargers at New England
I like Keenan to get it going versus a suspect New England Patriots' defense. I'm not sold on the Pats' defense being back just because they held Atlanta to only 7 points. Atlanta's offense hasn't scored more than 17 points in any of their last 3 games.
Allen is Philip Rivers' most targeted wide receiver. He's guaranteed 10 to 12 targets in this game. Julio Jones accumulated close to 100 receiving yards and scored a TD versus the Patriots in Week 7. Allen could eclipse Julio's stats.
WR – Ted Ginn Jr., $4,700, New Orleans vs Chicago
Ginn Jr.'s been en fuego in the Saints' last couple of games. Although Willie Snead practiced on Thursday without any complications, Ginn Jr. is more explosive than Snead. I'll look to Ginn Jr. to see more targets from Drew Brees than Snead will. Since Michael Thomas is slightly injured, Brees might throw a couple of bombs to Ginn Jr. more than once on Sunday.
WR – Josh Doctson, $3,900, Washington vs Dallas
I have no faith that Dallas' D is going to stop Washington from putting up plenty of points. Doctson is slowly becoming QB Kirk Cousins red zone target. He only has 7 catches this season. 2 of those 7 catches went for TDs. Doctson has officially gotten the start over Terrelle Pryor Sr. versus the Dallas Cowboys in NFL Week 8. This could be the game where Doctson puts his name on the map.
TE – Tyler Kroft, $3,000, Cincinnati vs Indianapolis
Cincinnati's offensive line isn't that great, but Kroft might score a TD and garner 4 to 6 catches. Cincy's top TE, Tyler Eifert, is out for the season. Indianapolis' defense isn't all that special. I think Kroft could garner fantasy stats well beyond what his $3,000 implies.
FLEX – LeGarrette Blount, RB, $5,100, Philadelphia vs San Francisco
I expect LeGarrette Blount to have his absolute best game of the season on Sunday. The Eagles battle the San Francisco 49'ers, whose defense is terrible. Philly should get a nice lead before handing the ball off to Blount. He could break a couple versus SF's D. If Blount can take those that he breaks to the house, forget it. The $5,100 represents good value.
DEF – New Orleans Saints, $3,400, New Orleans vs Chicago
The Saints' much-improved defense battles a Chicago Bears' team led by a rookie QB. The Bears beat Carolina last week with Mitch Trubisky only throwing 7 passes. He'll need to throw way more than that to take down New Orleans in the Superdome.
