Below, I list my NFL Week 8 DraftKings Pick'em Team. I feel good about this team. Cam was on my NFL Week 7 DFS Pick'em Team. He was one of the worst picks I've made all season. I don't like to dwell on failure, though. Yep, Cam's back on this week's team. Why? I think he could have a monster day versus Tampa Bay's horrible defense. Keep reading to find out why I made the decisions I made.
T1 – LeSean McCoy, RB, Buffalo vs Oakland
McCoy finally got it going in Buffalo's last game. He scored 28.2 fantasy points. He's averaging 22 fantasy points in home games this season. Oakland's offense only knows how to score points. Buffalo's offense only knows how to score points when LeSean McCoy is involved. He should catch at least 4 passes while getting close to 150 total yards. If he could add a TD or 2, I'll be ecstatic.
T2 – Mark Ingram, RB, New Orleans vs Chicago
He's a must add in every fantasy football format: season-long, classic DFS, and pick'em DFS. Ingram has become the Saints' go-to-guy. That's a great and wonderful thing. Don't get me wrong. Coach Sean Payton loves to utilize RB Alvin Kamara as well. He trusts Mark Ingram, though. Plus, Ingram has earned it. Coach Payton believes in positive reinforcement. Ingram should have yet another 20+ fantasy points performance on Sunday versus the Bears.
T3 – Cam Newton, QB, Carolina at Tampa Bay
Cam killed me last week. I can't help but feel he bounces back in a big way versus an NFC South opponent in Week 8. Tampa's D allows an average of over 294 passing yards per game. The Buccaneers have given up 11 TD passes through 6 games. Cam should be exceptional against the Bucs on Sunday.
T4 – Philip Rivers, QB, L.A. Chargers at New England
New England's pass defense just isn't all that great. Rivers has thrown 8 TD passes to a single interception in the Bolts' last 4 games. Consequently, the Chargers head to New England on a 3 game winning streak. New England should score plenty of points, which mean Philip must get into a groove for LAC to keep pace.
T5 – Keenan Allen, WR, L.A. Chargers at New England
Allen is at $7,300 in NFL DraftKings DFS Classic contests. There's the belief that Allen takes apart New England's secondary. Julio Jones did. Jones recorded close to 100 yards receiving and scored a TD versus the Patriots' secondary. Allen should eclipse 100-yards receiving with, hopefully, a TD (or two?) thrown in.
T6 – Amari Cooper, WR, Oakland at Buffalo
Cooper was hot in Week 7. He caught 11 of 19 targets for over 200 yards receiving. He also caught 2 TD passes. Buffalo's defense is better than Kansas City's. With that being written, QB Derek Carr has no choice but to target Amari versus the Bills. Oakland's rushing attack doesn't figure to be all that effective on Oct. 29. Also, the Bills' secondary yielded 7 passes to Tampa WR Mike Evans for 88 yards and a TD. Tampa Bay doesn't have a great WR2 like Michael Crabtree.
T7 – LeGarrette Blount, RB, Philadelphia vs San Francisco
San Francisco yields close to 135 rushing yards per game. Blount should have his most effective game as a rusher this season versus the San Francisco 49'ers on Sunday. Because SF's offense is so bad, Blount could get up to 20 carries in this game. There's a good chance he breaks one, or even two, for a long TD.
T8 – Ted Ginn Jr., WR, New Orleans vs Chicago
Sure, Willie Snead is 100% healthy. Snead, though, won't get nearly the playing time that Ted Ginn Jr. has earned in the last couple of New Orleans' games. Ginn Jr. rocked it in Week 7. He also rocked it in Week 6. I don't see Sean Payton and Drew Brees going away from the suddenly effective Ted Ginn Jr. just because Snead is healthy.
Good luck in all your DraftKings DFS contests!
